RV Power Installation & Electrical Services

Power your RV safely and conveniently at home. Take Charge Electric installs dedicated RV outlets, electrical hookups, and power pedestals, giving you a dependable place to connect your motorhome, travel trailer, or fifth wheel.

Whether you need a new 30-amp or 50-amp RV connection, want to upgrade an existing hookup, or need help diagnosing a power problem, our licensed electricians can make sure your system is properly sized, protected, and ready to use.

Proudly serving Key Peninsula, Gig Harbor, Belfair, Poulsbo, Bremerton, Port Orchard, Tacoma, and surrounding communities.

An RV Needs More Than a Convenient Outlet

Plugging an RV into the wrong outlet or relying on a long extension cord can create more problems than it solves. An undersized or improperly installed connection may lead to tripped breakers, overheated wiring, damaged equipment, unreliable power, or a serious electrical hazard. It can also leave you unable to use the air conditioner, appliances, and other systems inside your RV.

A dedicated RV power connection gives you a safe, reliable source of electricity while it is parked at your home or property. With the right circuit, outlet, and electrical protection in place, you can keep batteries charged, prepare for your next trip, host visiting family, or use your RV without putting unnecessary strain on your home’s electrical system.

Complete RV Power Services

Whether you are adding your first RV hookup or improving the power available at an existing parking space, Take Charge Electric provides professional electrical services designed around your RV, property, and power needs.

Our RV power services include:

We’ll assess your RV’s electrical requirements, the location of the parking area, and the available capacity in your electrical panel before recommending a solution. Not every RV or property needs the same setup. We’ll explain your options and recommend a practical solution without pushing equipment or upgrades you don’t need.

Safe, Professional Installation

From panel connections and underground wiring to outdoor receptacles and pedestals, every installation is completed with safety, durability, and current electrical codes in mind.

Convenient Placement

We’ll help you choose a practical hookup location based on where the RV is parked, how the power cord will reach, and what is required to route electricity safely across your property.

Needed two circuits installed, one in the water heater closet and another in the garage. Each circuit was wired to a different panel. I have a manufactured house, so it comes with its own set of challenges. It was done very efficiently, and the electrician and his apprentice were very informative as to the process and what they were doing. Very pleased with the service provided and the end product.

Great experience. Our smoke alarms were not functioning. I called and Lacey got me set up with an appointment. The electrician, Brooke, called upon completion of worked to review all she had done. She went over details of the charges. Great work, excellent communication. Good to have an electrician we can rely on.

Brook, a delightful young lady responded to our call for assistance. She was great, explained what she was doing and why she needed to do it. The whole transaction including her onsite work was organized and efficient. This company will now be the one we shall call for this type of electrical work.

We had a tree fall from our neighbors property, destroying our meter and knocking a power pole loose. After a nightmarish experience with another company who quoted us anywhere from $10,000-25,000 we were panicking. Matt (the owner of Take Charge) came out to our house gave us a quote for half of the first company's minimum price and a promise to get out to us the next day. He and his team delivered, I am so happy to say we are back in power and I can't even begin to express how thankful we are for them.

My experience with Take Charge Electric has been excellent from this bid process thru completion. The owner came to our home and explained in full detail the scope of the project. Then followed with the bid including a detailed video and breakdown of costs. Scheduling was easy and all staff were very courteous and respectful of the property. The work was well done and all areas of work left clean. This company will be my first choice for future electrical work. Highly recommend.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a 30-amp or 50-amp RV outlet?

That depends on your RV’s electrical system and the equipment you want to operate. Many smaller RVs use a 30-amp connection, while larger motorhomes and fifth wheels often require 50 amps. We’ll confirm your RV’s requirements before recommending an outlet.

Can I plug my RV into a regular household outlet?

A standard household outlet may support limited charging or very light use with the correct adapter, but it is not designed to power all the systems in most RVs. Air conditioners and other high-demand equipment typically require a dedicated RV circuit.

Can an RV outlet be installed anywhere on my property?

The best location depends on where the RV is parked, the distance from the electrical panel, the route available for wiring, and local installation requirements. We’ll evaluate the site and help you choose a safe, convenient location.

Does my electrical panel have enough capacity for an RV hookup?

Many homes can support a dedicated RV circuit, but the panel and existing electrical load must be evaluated first. If additional capacity or panel work is needed, we’ll explain your options before installation begins.

Can you repair an RV outlet or hookup you didn’t install?

Yes. We can inspect and troubleshoot many existing RV power connections, including breakers that trip, damaged receptacles, loose connections, incorrect wiring, and outlets that are no longer providing reliable power.

Make RV Power Simple

A properly installed RV hookup lets you connect at home without makeshift cords, overloaded outlets, or uncertainty about whether the setup is safe. Whether you need a new 30-amp or 50-amp connection, an upgraded pedestal, or help with an existing RV circuit, Take Charge Electric is here to help.
