Getting electrical power to vacant land requires careful planning between the property owner, utility company and electrician.
In this video, Matt, Owner/CEO of Take Charge Electric, walks through a new 200-amp electrical service installed on undeveloped property where the customer plans to build a home. The service runs from the utility transformer to a new meter base and includes an RV subpanel with 50-, 30- and 20-amp receptacles. This gives the owner power for different RV setups and temporary construction needs while the future home is being built.
Matt also outlines the first steps for bringing power to a property: contact the utility company, have an electrician assess the planned electrical loads and determine whether the conduit and wiring should run underground or overhead.
