An excavator damaged underground electrical wiring while digging at a local camp in Port Orchard, leaving the property in need of a safe, dependable repair.

In this video, Matt, Owner/CEO of Take Charge Electric, shows the damaged cable and the completed underground splice. The repair used irreversible crimps, heat shrink and materials rated for direct burial to restore power and help the camp return to normal operations.

Underground wiring can be damaged during digging, trenching, grading and other site work. Before starting excavation, always call 811 and have utility lines located. The guys were really cool with one of my kids who's autistic and likes tools and kept taking the tape measure. Josh I think was his name wasn't upset about it. Steffan as well was cool with all my kids. Also there was no cussing at the job site as well. Very professional group when everything is said and done.

We've had them come out twice now, in both situations they responded within 24hrs and had somebody out here completing the work within 48hrs. The service technicians where professional, polite, and friendly. They cleaned up after themselves and vacuumed leaving no mess. Both jobs were on the smaller side, so not sure about the experience with bigger jobs. That being said, when we do have a bigger electrical project we will be calling them again.

Each circuit was wired to a different panel.  I have a manufactured house, so it comes with its own set of challenges.  It was done very efficiently, and the electrician and his apprentice were very informative as to the process and what they were doing.
